Responsibilities Work in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) of a hospital Care for patients in an 18 bed telemetry / progressive care environment 12-hour night shifts from 19 : 00 to 07 : 30, three shifts per week Floating between departments and local locations within a 20-mile radius is required Epic EMR experience is preferred Utilize the nursing process to provide comprehensive and patient-centered care Coordinate and collaborate with patients, families, and the healthcare team Administer medications and perform treatments according to physician orders and protocols Provide clinical supervision of LPNs and unlicensed assistive personnel Holiday coverage may be required as part of the rotating schedule First-time travelers will not be considered; prior travel assignment experience is required Returning perm staff must wait one year before being eligible for traveler consideration Applicants must live at least 50 miles from the facility; no local candidates accepted Passing the BCA test during orientation is mandatory for maintaining assignment eligibility Requirements Active State of New Mexico or Compact State RN license required Minimum two years of recent experience in an 18 bed telemetry / progressive care unit required Completion of at least one prior 13-week travel assignment required Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) required BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required; BLS and ACLS must be through AHA, American Health and Safety, or American Red Cross Must pass a Basic Cardiac Arrhythmia / Dysrhythmia Assessment (BCA) exam onsite, with one retake allowed Epic EMR experience preferred Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-624308.
