Union Hall is a bar, restaurant, and performance venue in Park Slope, Brooklyn. We’re looking for an Assistant General Manager (AGM) to join our leadership team. Must be available nights, schedule would be Weds-Sunday (with some flexibility based on candidate).
This role is hands-on and floor-focused : ensuring smooth bar operations, supporting the staff, and helping maintain high standards and a warm atmosphere. The right candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys problem-solving in real time, and has strong communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee daily floor and bar operations during service
Support and lead FOH & BOH staff, ensuring clear communication and consistency
Manage bar systems, including some ordering, inventory, and product changes
Act as point of contact for event and group bookings during service
Uphold venue policies and maintain compliance with health & safety standards
Collaborate with GM and ownership on operations, scheduling, and training
Contribute to ongoing projects such as bar menu programming and operational improvements
Qualifications
2–3+ years experience in bar or restaurant positions
Strong leadership and people management skills
Hands-on experience with bar operations, ordering, and inventory systems
Comfort handling both service shifts and back-of-house responsibilities
Ability to balance a guest-first mentality with efficient team management
Familiarity with high-volume environments
NYC Food Protection Certificate (or ability to obtain)
