General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems is looking for an experienced Electrical Engineering Sr Technician - 3rd Shift (Electromechanical Technician) to join our Lincoln, NE organization.

Responsibilities

• Hands-on experience with control systems for Plant and Production Equipment.
• Experience in low voltage power distribution, circuit protection and fuse replacement.
• Experience in installation, setup and maintenance of control equipment including flow switches / meters, photo eyes, proximity switches, level transmitters / switches, DP cells, pressure, and temperature transmitters.
• Maintain function and reliability of production and plant systems and associated equipment by executing a preventive maintenance program;

Inspect electrical and automation systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes.

• Able to install EMT and rigid conduit.
• Perform preventive / corrective maintenance and investigate problems with mechanical equipment (e.g., Hydraulic, Pneumatic, Electric Equipment) following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications, troubleshooting malfunctions.
• Remove defective parts by dismantling devices using hoists, cranes, rigging, and hand / power tools.
• Provide feedback on equipment condition while performing preventive maintenance activities.
• Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety of system.
• Troubleshoot and modify PLCs, controls, meters, and sensor hardware.
• Guide and assist maintenance mechanics with equipment repairs.
• Carry out daily maintenance activities and assigned work orders. Document progress and results.
• Perform all work in accordance with established safety, environmental, and housekeeping standards; works within site policies and procedures.
• Effectively use safety equipment such as protective clothing, and personal protective equipment.
• Maintain ongoing necessary / required training, certifications, and education.
• Assist supervisors in after-hours maintenance calls.

Qualifications

• 2-year technical degree in Electro-Mechanical or equivalent certification.
• 0 to 2 years work experience (internship acceptable).
• Combination of equivalent education and experience acceptable.
• Proficiency with electrical and mechanical system troubleshooting with a working knowledge of AC and DC voltages and mechanical power transmission systems.
• Proficiency in reading blueprints and electrical schematics.
• Ability to multi-task.
• Effective written / oral communication skills and inter-personal skills.
• Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude.
• Working knowledge of OSHA regulations.
• Ability to work multiple shifts and overtime as required (including some weekends).
• Regular and reliable attendance.
