Job opening for a custom framing specialist in Grosse Pointe. Our small team of energetic creatives are looking to add one more team member.

This is a part-time position, 3-4 days per week, somewhat flexible schedule. Normal operating hours are Tues-Sat 10am to 6pm.

Our small business focuses on preservation framing designs for customers looking to protect their art and valuables, striving for excellent frame design and customer service every step of the way.

Our gallery has a strong mission to assist established and emerging local artists build a platform to display their work in.

We feature monthly rotating exhibitions and host a wide variety of art related events throughout the year, working closely with our city and other local organizations to bring public art to our area.

The gallery has been a part of the community for over 30 years, the right candidate will get to know our regulars, participate in local art events with the gallery and has a passion for the arts.

Must have experience as a custom framer.

Qualifications

Some computer skills

Experience with handling museum-grade, high ticket artwork

Experience with specialty framing (shadow boxing, cross-stitch stretching, etc.)

Creative designing experience a plus

At least 2 years Custom Picture Framing experience

Competent knowledge in basic custom picture framing (manual mat cutting, canvas stretching, glass handling, etc.)

A high level of attention to detail

Excellent customer service skills with the desire to maintain and build an ongoing and referral client base

A polished image and outgoing personality

Must be able to work independently or as a team player that can works well with others

An individual who is customer-driven, goal oriented, highly motivated and the ability to communicate and influence effectively

A high level of ownership and accountability

The ability to work on your feet in a fast-paced environment for extended periods of time

The ability to lift at least 50 pounds, to bend and climb ladders to merchandise and hang artwork when needed

Driver's License

Complete client and gallery orders in a timely manner with precise attention to details

Good organization skills and ability to maintain a clean workspace

Participation in all gallery events, artist’s receptions, charity events, etc

Assist clients in loading artwork into vehicles with purchases to prevent damages

Excellent custom service and sales experience

Ability to jump in and help other employees, such as answering phones or assisting with customers

Job Type : Part-time

Pay : $17.00 - $21.00 per hour

Expected hours : 22 35 per week
