The ideal Network SME Engineer will have deep expertise in routing and switching, cloud networking, and IPv6, along with extensive hands-on experience designing, maintaining, and optimizing large-scale Cisco and Arista networks.

Trilyon, Inc. is looking for a highly skilled Network SME Engineer to support the design, deployment, and optimization of enterprise network solutions. The Network SME Engineer will serve as a senior technical leader responsible for ensuring network reliability, performance, and scalability across campus, data center, and cloud environments.
The position requires an expert-level understanding of IPv4 / IPv6, advanced routing protocols (BGP, OSPF), and overlay technologies such as IPSEC, DMVPN, and VXLAN. The successful Network SME Engineer will bring a blend of deep technical knowledge, strong troubleshooting ability, and the capacity to design innovative, high-availability networking solutions.
Key Responsibilities :
Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of enterprise-grade network solutions across campus, data center, and cloud environments.
Develop and optimize network architectures utilizing Cisco and Arista platforms.
Configure and troubleshoot routing protocols including BGP , OSPF , and Spanning Tree Protocol , ensuring redundancy and high performance.
Support multicast networking, including IGMPv2 / v3 , PIM , Static RP , and RP-Anycast configurations.
Deploy and maintain overlay technologies such as IPSEC , DMVPN , and VXLAN to support secure and scalable connectivity.
Manage and test IPv6 implementations , ensuring compatibility, performance, and compliance.
Work with cabling and optics (10 / 25G / 40G / 50G / 100G), including breakout panels and structured cabling solutions.
Troubleshoot complex issues involving routing, switching, and connectivity for IoT devices and sensors.
Support the integration of Cisco ISE , TACACS , DNS , and DHCP functions within enterprise environments.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify communication scenarios between end and edge devices, and validate performance through structured testing.
Provide network migration planning and execution support for critical infrastructure changes.
Create and maintain detailed network documentation , including diagrams, configuration standards, and operational procedures.
Mentor junior engineers and participate in peer reviews to ensure technical excellence.
Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent practical experience.
Minimum of 12 years of experience in enterprise network engineering roles.
Mandatory Cisco CCIE Lab Certification (Routing & Switching or Service Provider).
Deep understanding of network routing and switching in large-scale enterprise environments.
Hands-on experience with Cisco ISR, ASR1K, ASR9K, Catalyst 9K, and Nexus 9K platforms.
Strong experience with IPv4 / IPv6 , BGP , OSPF , Multicast , and VXLAN .
Familiarity with Cisco ISE , TACACS , DNS , and DHCP configurations.
Experience with network automation tools such as Ansible is a strong plus.
Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills with the ability to resolve complex network issues.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work effectively in a hybrid onsite model (3 days per week in Alpharetta, GA).
Preferred Skills :
Hands-on experience with cloud networking across AWS, Azure, or GCP.
Familiarity with network monitoring and performance optimization tools.
Understanding of Zero Trust network design and SDN architectures.
