About the Role :
- We are looking for a Cottonseed QA Technician to join our team in Bapchule, AZ.
- The primary responsibility of this position is to assist the Quality Control Lab Supervisor in testing fuzzy cottonseed, processed, and carryover cottonseed for quality standards.
- The role requires strong attention to detail, ability to follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), and Work Instructions (WI), and perform repetitive tests for extended periods.
Responsibilities :
- Perform various tests on cottonseed including Truck Sampling, Moisture, Temperature, Free Fatty Acid, Genetic Purity, Visual Mechanical Damage, Adventitious Presence, Seed Count, pH, Seed Appearance, Data Verification, and DNA testing.
- Maintain a clean work area and follow safe work practices.
- Work near / with other team members on a daily basis.
- Use industrial equipment such as hydraulic presses, vacuum samplers, autoclaves, seed dryers, shakers, cotton seed de-linting sink, magnification devices, ovens, dishwashers, blenders / blades, moisture / temp meters, seed counters, centrifuges, and pipettes.
- Handle labware including glass beakers, test tubes, micro-centrifuge tubes, petri dishes, pipette tips, and well plates.
- Safely handle lab chemicals such as buffers, acid, oil, alcohol, seed treatments, and cleaning solvents.
- Wear PPE (safety glasses, lab coat, gloves, safety boots, and hardhat) provided by the company.
- Cross-train in the Plant Quality Assurance Lab and work in both lab and plant settings.
Education Qualification
Background in biology, lab experience, or agriculture experience preferred.
