Electrical Controls Designer - Sterling, MA
Full Time / Direct Hire - $70,000 to $110,000 Annually Based on Experience

The Role :
We are searching for a talented Electrical Controls Designer to join our growing team. In this role, you will play a vital part in designing and developing electrical control systems for our industrial automation projects.
You will work closely with engineers, project managers, and manufacturing personnel to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
Responsibilities :
- Develop detailed electrical schematics and control panel layouts using industry-standard CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, EPLAN)
- Design and optimize control panel layouts for efficient space utilization and maintainability
- Create bills of materials (BOMs) for electrical components required for control panel fabrication
- Participate in project kick-off meetings to understand customer requirements and translate them into electrical control system designs
- Collaborate with engineers to ensure designs meet electrical codes, safety standards, and project specifications
- Perform design reviews and troubleshooting to identify and resolve potential issues
- Prepare and maintain project documentation, including design drawings, schematics, and BOMs
- May assist with control panel fabrication and testing activities (depending on experience)
Qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field (preferred)
- Minimum 3+ years of experience in electrical controls design for industrial automation projects
- Proficiency in electrical design principles, including power distribution, motor control, and control logic
- Strong understanding of electrical codes and safety standards (e.g., NFPA 70E)
- Excellent working knowledge of electrical control components (e.g., PLCs, HMIs, VFDs)
- Experience with electrical control panel layout and fabrication (a plus)
- Solid experience with CAD software for electrical schematics and control panel design (e.g., AutoCAD, EPLAN)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Time management skills and ability to prioritize tasks
