Medical Teams International
Portland, Oregon Metro Area
$172.8K-$259.1K a year
Full-time
We are sorry. The job offer you are looking for is no longer available.

Daring to love like Jesus, we boldly break barriers to health and restore wholeness in a hurting world.

Medical Teams International provides life-saving medical care for people in crisis. We go where we are needed most to ease the suffering of those devastated by crises.

We mobilize staff and volunteers quickly entering places of turmoil, disease, and natural disaster. We care for the hurting in front-line clinics, refugee camps and remote villages.

Our goal is to provide loving care to save lives and leave communities healthier.

We respond to sudden emergencies. Cyclones, famine, refugee influxes and other crises unleash chaos. When a community’s needs outstrip its ability to respond, people are left to suffer.

The hours and days following a sudden disaster are critical for getting medical care to people who urgently need it. Our team continually monitors emerging global disasters whether natural or manmade and is prepared to respond.

We go where the health needs are urgent and where our resources can help save lives. We team up with partners on the ground to provide a swift and coordinated response for each crisis.

We respond to long-term crises. Some crises create long-lasting health challenges. Infectious diseases like Ebola or COVID-19 devastate health systems.

Repeated natural disasters weaken the local ability to respond. Civil war and political turmoil force people into refugee camps for long periods of time.

We respond to long-term crises by providing life-saving medical care, helping rebuild health systems and training locals to care for the health of their neighbors.

We believe that restoring health is the first step to restoring hope for people stuck in difficult situations.

We are now seeking a strategic and collaborative individual with a strong fundraising track record to serve as our next Chief Development Officer (CDO).

The CDO will contribute to the calling of Medical Teams through owning all private income development and brand awareness.

The CDO will develop and execute short-term and long-term strategies to secure individual donor, corporate, and foundation contributions in support of Medical Teams’ Calling and programs.

As the direct leader of the Marketing and Development (MaD) Department, the CDO will lead and provide oversight of the fundraising program, monitor development activities, and implement new strategies for growth and success.

The CDO is a member of the Executive Team, reporting to the CEO, and maintains an effective relationship with the Board of Directors’ Marketing and Development Committee.

To apply, please submit a CV and cover letter, detailing how you fulfill the role description and personal specification.

The deadline for applications is Wednesday, May 15, 2024.

Preference will be given to candidates located or willing to locate to the greater Portland Metro Area. Salary range is $172,760 - $259,140 commensurate with qualifications and experience.

The selection committee will together review all candidates’ applications and agree on a longlist for the role. Longlisted candidates will be invited to discuss the position with Perrett Laver in greater detail.

The selection committee will subsequently meet to decide upon a final shortlist to be invited to the formal interview stage.
