Job Description / Essential Elements :

MADERA UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT

CERTIFICATED JOB DESCRIPTION

TEACHER : CLASSROOM

Overall Responsibilities

Provide instruction using principles of human development and

appropriate learning strategies to enable students to make academic,

vocational, and / or personal growth.

Specific Responsibilities

1. Provide instruction in grade / subject assigned.

2. Prepare materials needed to assist students.

3. Implement policies, procedures, and mandates as required.

4. Prepare and submit requested reports and plans in an accurate

and timely manner.

5. Participate in professional development.

6. Participate in school, District, and department activities and meetings.

7. Work with other staff including administration, counseling,

clerical, and other teachers.

8. Provide instruction and compliance activities in accordance with

state and federal law, District policies and procedures, and

site needs.

9. Work with parents and community members to provide for the

instructional needs of individuals in the assigned class.

10. Foster positive relationships between students, staff, and community members.

11. Supervise students to assure their safety.

12. Monitor student achievement and adjust instructions in

response to student data.

13. Other related duties as assigned.

Specific knowledge of :

1. Content of instructional assignment.

2. Principles of learning, instruction, and assessment appropriate

to assignment.

Specific Ability to :

1. Assist in array of learners in developing age appropriate

knowledge and skills.

2. Maintain patience when confronted with challenges and

stressful situations.

3. Contribute to the successful fulfillment of the District Mission.

4. Work cooperatively with others to make plans and decisions

and to implement programs and activities.

and instructions provided in English.

6. Learn and appropriately apply District policies and procedures

and other regulations related to the position.

7. Apply strategies appropriate to the age level of the assigned

students.

8. Maintain appropriate confidentiality about the status of

students, classroom, and school activities.

9. Gather and analyze data to determine student's abilities and

instructional needs.

10. Operate calculator, computer, and data entry terminal.

11. Learn and apply current technology to assigned duties.

Education :

1. Bachelor's Degree or equivalent.

2. Graduate level course work in education.

Experience :

1. Completion of student teaching.

License :

1. Valid California Teaching Credential for age / subject assigned.

1. Responsibilities to be implemented in the preschool setting as

required to meet the needs of program students and funding

Qualifications

Education :

1. (in lieu of those stated) College level course in early childhood

education equivalent to twelve units.

1. Responsibilities to be implemented in the middle school setting

as required to meet the needs of K-8 or 7-8 students including

a focus on a limited number of subject areas.

authorizing service in Special Education.

Resource Specialist

Teacher in a position supporting adult students.

Specific Responsibilities

1. Responsibilities to be implemented in an adult setting (regular

site or community based) to meet the needs of adult learners in

a state regulated core areas.

Qualifications

License :

1. May substitute a Valid California Credential authorizing service

in adult education.

These physical characteristics are representative of those that must

Autism certification and Dual Credential Multiple Subject / Mild to Moderate Credential preferred.
