Diesel Mechanic role at Whiteford Kenworth Inc
Diesel Mechanics primarily perform heavy-duty mechanical maintenance, repairs, and diagnostics under general supervision, ensuring adherence to factory and industry standards. The ideal candidate will possess excellent manual dexterity, exceptional attention to detail, and a strong eagerness to learn and continuously enhance their skill set.
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive vehicle diagnostics, address all required maintenance needs, and complete both minor and major repairs as outlined in repair orders, while identifying and recommending necessary additional repairs or services.
- Meet billable time and efficiency performance requirements, ensure standard repair times are met, and precisely record billable hours on all repair orders.
- Test drive or coordinate vehicle test drives to ensure quality assurance.
- Complete required paperwork and repair order summaries accurately and legibly.
- Properly communicate and submit warranty parts and returns.
- Maintain the company's quality of work and customer service standards.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with coworkers and customers.
- Maintain work area and surrounding environment in a safe and clean operating condition.
- Adhere to all company policies including safety policies and repair procedures.
- Participate in technician training as assigned by management.
- Other duties or tasks as assigned.
