Key Responsibilities of the Travel Oncology Registered Nurse:

• Provide specialized nursing care to patients undergoing chemotherapy, radiation, and cancer-related treatments
• Monitor patients for side effects, adverse reactions, and treatment responses
• Administer medications, chemotherapy, and supportive therapies safely and accurately
• Collaborate closely with oncologists, pharmacists, and interdisciplinary care teams
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans, side effect management, and emotional support resources
• Maintain accurate and detailed documentation within the EMR system
• Ensure adherence to safety standards and infection control protocols

Requirements of the Travel Oncology Registered Nurse:

• Active RN license (Illinois or compact state)
• BLS and ONS/ONCC certification required.
• Minimum of 2 years of recent Oncology experience in an acute care or cancer center setting
• Proficiency in chemotherapy administration and oncology patient assessment
• Strong communication, critical thinking, and patient advocacy skills
