Essential Responsibilities
Directs the activities of the assigned Region.
Monitors the sales, gross margin & EBITDA performance measured by the entity P&L for ProDealer business for a specific Novo Full Line Distribution Center.
Assists with operational issues for trade shows (input and staffing).
Ensures sales territories are covered as efficiently and effectively as possible, recommending changes in territories and / or staff as necessary to accommodate changes in business conditions or other significant circumstances.
Develops targeted account lists and assists Territory Service Managers (TSMs) in securing business. Also develops targeted opportunities for Account Managers (AMs) and Customer Service Representatives (CSRs).
Develops and implements sales promotions and programs.
Facilitates information and market intelligence flow between the field, and Empire management.
Provides product training to TSMs, AMs and CSRs for increased product knowledge.
Fills in for representatives during periods of absence, working directly with the customer as necessary to ensure continuity of business and service.
Establishes a relationship with the management of the top Region Independent customers.
Responds to specific customer requests regarding matching competition relative to pricing using financial and customer information.
Evaluates for profitability and customer standing.
Serves as the primary contact for field compliance, communication, support issues, adherence to established processes and procedures, etc. within the region.
Reviews performance of direct reports and conducts timely performance evaluations, recommending wage adjustments as warranted.
Gives guidance and offers support to direct reports as needed.
Deals with any concerns from the field or forwards to the appropriate company personnel.
Approves new Independent customers and Independent customer account Action Requests.
Basic Qualifications (Required)
Must possess and maintain valid State-appropriate drivers license, unrestricted other than for vision correction, with a satisfactory driving record.
Minimum of five years experience in the building materials business and related product knowledge
Ability to prioritize tasks and effectively schedule time to meet objectives of the role
Supervisory experience preferred, with history of leadership and development of subordinates.
Exceptional interpersonal skills, with demonstrated ability to forge, develop and maintain customer relationships
Tenacity, knowledge of what motivates others, and ability to adapt to the style necessary to achieve desired goals
Basic math skills
Understanding of business principles and supply chain management to the extent that overall costs and profitability can be assessed, both as relates to a specific product and also as relates to a customer
Travel up to 50% is required to successfully perform in this role.
Execution of a Non-Compete / Confidentiality Agreement is required.
