Director, Business Intelligence
The New York Red Bulls are one of 30 Major League Soccer (MLS) teams. RBNY, one of the ten charter clubs of MLS, has competed in the league since its founding in 1996. The Red Bulls play home matches at Sports Illustrated Stadium (SIS) in Harrison, New Jersey. The three-time MLS Supporters' Shield Winners are owned by the Austrian beverage company Red Bull, for which the team is named. The New York Red Bulls offer one of the nation's premier youth soccer development programs, from local soccer partnerships across New York and New Jersey to Regional Development Schools and the Red Bulls Academy teams.
Position Summary
The New York Red Bulls are seeking a strategic and analytically-driven Director of Business Intelligence, CRM, and Data Analytics to lead our data initiatives and transform how we understand and engage with our fans, optimize business operations, and drive revenue growth. This role will be instrumental in building a comprehensive data ecosystem that supports decision-making across all areas of the organization, from fan engagement and ticket sales to sponsorship activation and operational efficiency.
Job Description
Data Strategy & Analytics Leadership
- Develop and execute comprehensive data strategy aligned with organizational goals and MLS / Red Bull Global initiatives
- Lead the creation of predictive models and advanced analytics to drive fan acquisition, retention, and revenue optimization
- Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics frameworks across all business units
- Provide strategic insights and recommendations to executive leadership through data-driven analysis
Customer Relationship Management (CRM)
Oversee all CRM platforms and systems, ensuring optimal fan data collection, segmentation, and activationDesign and implement customer journey mapping and lifecycle marketing strategiesDevelop fan personas and behavioral analytics to enhance personalization and targetingManage customer data integration across multiple touchpoints including ticketing, merchandise, digital platforms, and venue experiencesBusiness Intelligence & Reporting
Build and maintain comprehensive dashboards and reporting infrastructure for all departmentsCreate automated reporting systems for sales performance, fan engagement, sponsorship ROI, and operational metricsDevelop real-time analytics capabilities for matchday operations and fan experience optimizationEstablish data governance standards and ensure data quality across all systemsTeam Leadership & Development
Foster a data-driven culture throughout the organization through training and consultationCollaborate with IT and external vendors to ensure robust data infrastructure and securityManage department budget and resource allocation for analytics tools and platformsCross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with Marketing, Sales, Operations, and Fan Experience teams to identify analytical opportunitiesWork closely with MLS and Red Bull Global data teams to leverage shared resources and best practicesSupport sponsorship teams with data-driven insights for partner activation and measurementCollaborate with coaching staff and soccer operations on performance analytics (as applicable)Qualifications
Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Analytics, Data Science, Business, Marketing, or related field; Master's degree preferred5+ years of experience in data analytics, business intelligence, or CRM management2+ years of leadership experience managing analytical teamsExperience in sports, entertainment, or consumer-facing industries preferredTechnical Skills
Advanced proficiency in SQL, Python, R, or similar analytical programming languagesExpert knowledge of CRM platforms (Salesforce preferred)Experience with business intelligence tools (Power BI, Tableau, Looker, etc.)Familiarity with data warehousing, ETL processes, and cloud analytics platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)Knowledge of marketing automation platforms and customer data platforms (CDPs)Core Competencies
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to translate complex data into actionable insightsExcellent communication and presentation skills for both technical and non-technical audiencesStrategic thinking with ability to align data initiatives with business objectivesProject management experience with ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneouslyUnderstanding of privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA) and data security best practicesPreferred Qualifications

Due to the cyclical nature of the entertainment industry, you may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the company. The base salary range for this position is $120,000 - $140,000. Actual salary offers may vary based on work experience. The base pay is subject to change and may be modified.
