Job description30 PM $35-40 / hr Primary Function : The Fabricator is responsible for accurately fitting and welding complex fabrications and assemblies based on blueprints and technical drawings. The ideal candidate will have experience in heavy industrial welding and fabrication work and a commitment to safety, quality, and craftsmanship. Ensure all safety procedures are followed, and the proper PPE is in place Interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and procedures Use grinders, torches, saws and other fabrication tools to prepare parts for fit-up Tack weld assemblies and measure to ensure dimensional accuracy Final weld parts in all postures and positions. Perform First Article Inspections. Troubleshoot and resolve problems with fit up as they occur Follow Business Technology policies to protect sensitive data and reduce information security occurrences. (Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities) Must have knowledge in rigging and crane safety Minimum of 5 years’ experience with Mig, Tig, and Oxy-Fuel torch Must have strong attention to detail Familiarity and skill with interpreting technical drawings and blueprints Ability to work independently and closely follow directions is essential Must have a positive and professional attitude Available to work weekends and overtime Capable of standing for extended periods of time Non-ferrous welding experience is a plus Compliance (background check, ITAR, vaccine, etc.) Background and drug screen - pass a post-offer background verification and drug screen. Standard machine shop environment with various types of machinery. Appropriate safety garments (PPE) must be worn. Must be able to stand and work as long as 12 hours in different positions. Fabricator (Direct Placement for Client) Sigma Design has collaborated with a heavy industrial fabrication and machine shop seeking an experienced Fabricator to join their facility in North Portland, OR.
This company is one of the largest machine shops on the west coast.
They have a long history of offering a wide range of equipment and services.
Their products are used in a variety of industries, including mining, steel mills, power generation, cement, pulp, and paper.
