Job description

Project Manager

The New York City Mayor's Office is responsible for overseeing city services throughout the five boroughs, coordinating public agencies and departments, and managing public property. New York City Mayor Eric Adams is head of the executive branch of New York City's government. The Adams' administration is leading the fight to serve the people of the greatest city in the world, ensuring delivery of efficient and effective services, working to make New York City's economy stronger, reducing inequality, improving public safety, and making the city more affordable that meets the needs of all New Yorkers. We value leadership, transparency, fairness, and efficiency as we actively seek diverse talents from various sectors to join our team.

The Mayor's Office of Talent and Workforce Development ("NYC Talent") works to mobilize New Yorkers and the local talent development infrastructure to achieve an inclusive economy and realize the citywide employment objectives laid out in Mayor Eric Adams' Executive Order #22. To do this, NYC Talent partners with and mobilizes public agencies, educational institutions, non-profits, unions, communities, and industry to :

  • Ensure NYC residents succeed in fulfilling, economically secure careers.
  • Enable NYC employers to thrive because they hire, train, and advance diverse talent and operate in a supportive local business environment.
  • Make sure all New Yorkers benefit from shared prosperity.

To promote equity and relentlessly tackle historic employment disparities, we aggregate and align public and private resources to match talent to opportunity; disaggregate data to understand and adapt to the rapidly changing labor market; leverage technology advancements; promote targeted policies; and engage employers and jobseekers.

The New York Alliance for Careers in Healthcare (NYACH) is the Industry Partnership for the healthcare sector, bringing together disparate entities of the healthcare and workforce development ecosystem to address the healthcare industry's rapidly changing economic and labor force needs. NYACH works with employers and other stakeholders in the industry to understand the future of the sector, translate that understanding for the workforce development ecosystem, and galvanize coordinated action to anticipate and prepare New York City for the healthcare economy of tomorrow.

The Workforce Development Corporation (WDC), an independent not-for-profit created by the City of New York, and NYC Talent work in partnership to jointly develop, fund, and manage workforce and training initiatives to create a skilled workforce in the City of New York.

NYACH the City's Industry Partnership for the healthcare sector seeks an experienced Project Manager to drive initiatives that strengthen New York City's healthcare workforce through informed health-policy strategy and cross-sector collaboration. This role calls for a self-starter who can translate complex federal, state, and local policy developments into actionable programs, craft compelling written products for diverse audiences, and manage multi-stakeholder projects from concept through execution. You will report directly to the Executive Director and work closely with the Director of Programs to keep NYACH at the forefront of policy-driven workforce innovation, ensuring that programs align with changing regulations, labor-market trends, and the needs of healthcare employers and workers.

Job responsibilities will include, but are not limited to :

  • Administrative Support, Project Management & Stakeholder Engagement :
  • Assist the Executive Director and Director in day-to-day operations.
  • Team calendar management, meeting coordination, and correspondence.
  • Draft and edit professional documents, reports, presentations, and other communications.
  • Support coordination of internal and external meetings / convenings, including preparation of agendas, meeting materials, and follow-up actions.
  • Oversee project timelines, deliverables, and milestones to ensure successful program execution.
  • Monitor progress on multiple initiatives and provide regular status updates to leadership.
  • Manage relationships with key stakeholders, including healthcare organizations, educational institutions, and government agencies, by maintaining and updating external contact lists via CRM Air table and other CRM management tools.
  • Organize stakeholder meetings, events, and advisory councils, ensuring smooth logistics and effective communication.
  • Serve as a point of contact for stakeholder inquiries and collaborations.
  • Plan and facilitate advisory-council meetings, policy roundtables, and public convenings; synthesize outcomes into action items.
  • Health-Policy Analysis & Strategy :
  • Track, analyze, and summarize federal and NYS legislation, Medicaid reforms, waiver proposals, and regulatory changes that affect NYC's healthcare workforce.
  • Produce briefs, white papers, and talking points that articulate policy impacts on talent pipelines, employer demand, and economic outcomes to support Executive Director and NYC Talent Leadership Team.
  • Advise internal and external partners on policy implications and recommend responsive strategies.
  • Collaborate with the Data Impact Team to integrate labor-market and program data into policy recommendations and project design.
  • Track consultant and vendor agreements; track expenditures and ensure compliance with City procurement rules.
  • Professional Writing, Communication :
  • Draft, edit, and manage external communications, including newsletters, press releases, and reports.
  • Support the development and execution of social media strategies to enhance NYACH's digital presence and engagement under the direction of the Director and strategic vision as designed by the Executive Director.
  • Update and maintain the NYACH website to ensure accurate and engaging content.
  • Update, maintain and grow audiences of all NYACH socials including websites, Linked-In, and expansion to other media platforms.
  • Contract and Budget Management :
  • Under direction, assist with contract management, including drafting agreements, tracking deadlines, and ensuring compliance.
  • Support budget tracking and financial reporting for programs and initiatives.
  • Other Responsibilities :
  • Coordinate logistics for program convenings, events, and off-site stakeholder engagement.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and workforce development best practices to inform NYACH strategies.
  • Provide additional administrative and project support as needed.
  • This is a full-time, in-person position with occasional flexibility to accommodate meetings or events outside standard hours. This position is eligible for hybrid work, subject to current office policies.

    About You :

  • You are proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • You have proven ability to lead complex projects with multiple external partners and tight deadlines.
  • You have the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
