Overview The Public Relations Manager is responsible for driving meaningful brand awareness through relevant communications tactics and channels. The core area of focus for this position is consumer-focused PR for product and brand news. This includes the management of launch campaigns, sales-driving PR efforts and evergreen media relations.
Responsibilities
- This individual is responsible for ensuring an earned-first PR approach for product launch programs, from brief development to serving as the point person for our agency on campaign development, timelines, updates, execution, tracking and reporting for tactics across team.
- Partners with sales teams to build PR strategies that drive SOV and business results, bringing curious mindset to learn and drive new ways of doing things.
- Leads the editorial calendar planning process with counterparts within integrated marketing and with product marketers, ensuring connectivity across consumer touchpoints.
- Leads PR briefing process, partnering with integrated marketing teams, ensuring continuity across tactics and channels, including quarterly evergreen briefs as well as campaigns.
- Ensures core messaging is carried through in message development, and crafts media pitches and other relevant PR materials, including expert Q&A’s for media responses, as necessary.
- Establishes BISSELL as a cleaning authority through the management of securing product on “best of lists” as well as through expert positioning, resulting in BISSELL experts quoted in cleaning and innovation stories.
- Maintains roster of internal subject matter experts, including providing media training on PR best practices.
- Leads PR reporting by becoming the expert in the news monitoring tool and maintaining and evolving systems to engage and share out highlights internally. Responsible for overseeing media tracker updates by PR agency.
- Maintains real time media monitoring, familiar with industry news monitoring tools to identify potential real-time opportunities / conversations where the brand could add value.
- Manages and triages incoming PR inquiries, working to fulfill products requests as well as expert interviews.
- Provides support for crisis communications / issues management.
- Responsible for media product samples program.
