Responsibilities Work in a hospital Labor & Delivery unit providing care to mothers and newborns 12-hour night shifts with schedule including weekends and holidays as needed Patient population includes women over 20 weeks gestation, postpartum and well-baby newborns, and post-op GYN patients Nurse-to-patient ratios are 1 : 1 for active labor, 1 : 2 for early labor without epidural or pitocin, 1 : 2-3 for antepartum, and 1 : 6 for mom / baby or well babies Possible requirement to circulate for Cesarean sections and provide couplet care RNs may need to work up to four weekend night shifts per 6-week schedule, with weekends defined as Friday and Saturday nights Holiday coverage is required, including Labor Day as needed Scrubs are provided by the facility Team primarily consists of RNs supporting OB / GYN, mother-baby, and antepartum patients Interview with manager required prior to offer Requirements Active TN RN or compact RN license Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery experience in a similar setting Prior travel nursing experience is required Certifications : Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Ability to care for laboring mothers, postpartum patients, and newborns Previous experience with circulating for Cesarean sections preferred Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-624012.
