Lead Warehouse Associate
C.H. Robinson is seeking a Lead Warehouse Associate to play a pivotal role in training, coaching, and overseeing our warehouse team. In this position, you'll ensure the safe and efficient loading and unloading of freight from trailers or ocean containers, maintaining the flow of materials within the warehouse. You will elevate our operations by implementing process enhancements, resolving issues, and achieving efficiency improvements. This is a Monday-Friday position. Hours are 2pm-11pm ET.
Duties and Responsibilities
The duties and responsibilities of this position consists of, but are not limited to, the following :
- Support warehouse supervisory team in adhering to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and ensure their implementation
- Assist warehouse team in utilizing Warehouse Management System (WMS), including training and troubleshooting, to maintain efficient warehouse organization
- Receive goods from customers and suppliers by offloading and loading vehicles, checking paperwork, weighing, measuring, and reporting discrepancies or damages
- Operate stand-up, sit-down forklifts, and hand jacks for palletization, stretch wrapping, and banding of cargo
- Load and unload trailers / ocean containers in a professional and damage-free manner
- Prepare outbound loads by matching paperwork, labeling, and handling Unit Load Device (ULD) preparation
- Sign off Bills of Lading accurately, verifying counts and damages
- Stage cargo within the warehouse safely and orderly
- Maintain warehouse cleanliness and organization standards through general housekeeping
- Ensure quality standards are met according to standard operating procedures (SOP) or customer requirements, including reworking or recouping freight
- Contribute to the development of new SOPs related to new business, products, or process changes
- Regular duties include cross-functional areas such as receiving, loading, picking, shipping, etc.
- Completion of weekly bond checks
- Execute Dock-to-Stock procedures and regulations at all times, maintaining building perimeter security and challenging anything or anyone untoward
- Handle bonded import freight into the External Temporary Storage (ERTS) facility in accordance with regulations and breakdown of inbound ULD's as required
