Senior Product Designer, Developer Platform

Our mission on the Developer Platform Team is to help game studios succeed by creating meaningful experiences for players. As a B2B2C team, we serve two key audiences. For game studios, we build smart integrations and intuitive tools that make it easy for developers, community managers, and marketers to connect with players and bring the best of Discord into their games. For players, we enhance on-platform experiences that deepen their connection to the games they love—and make it easier to build lasting friendships through play.

While this role will eventually support experiences for both audiences, your initial focus will be on the game studio experience. We’re looking for a designer who’s excited to shape the future of our tools and offerings for the developers, community managers, and marketers who bring games to life. You’ll design cohesive, empowering, and delightful experiences across every touchpoint studios have with Discord—from onboarding and documentation to dashboards, self-serve portals, Official Game Communities, and beyond.

As a product designer, you’ll work across the full product development cycle—from early exploration through to launch and iteration. You’ll apply a thoughtful blend of user empathy, systems thinking, and visual craft to solve meaningful problems for businesses and players alike. This position is US-based only. We are seeking candidates located in the San Francisco Bay Area.

What You'll Be Doing

• You will embed within a product squad and partner with engineers, product managers, researchers, and data scientists to oversee the user experience of a product from concept to launch — and then continue to improve it after release.
• You will create wire-frames, mockups, prototypes, and help implement your designs to pixel perfection. You will also quality check all of your work as it is built, ensuring it reflects your vision.
• You will own the bar for craft, execution and production quality for your immediate product team, and proactively identify opportunities to uplevel the quality of your work in production as you playtest.
• You will actively influence your team’s roadmap with a deep understanding of the product space, acting as a thought leader with your XFN leads in defining the “how” of the product strategy.
• You will present your designs to the team and the greater organization to drive alignment around your work
• You will identify gaps or improvements for our design system and contribute UX and design patterns that address design debt, and are adopted across the design organization.
• You will be an active peer and participant in your organization’s design team and culture, sharing / contributing often and proactively in critiques and in general channels to encourage a culture of open feedback and active support.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $196,000 to $220,000 + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role and level. Within the range, individual pay is determined by additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Please note that the compensation details listed in US role postings reflect the base salary only, and do not include equity, or benefits.
