Underwriting Analyst
We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Underwriting Analyst to join our team. In this role, you will evaluate and analyze Property & Casualty (P&C) products to recommend coverage, policy terms, and pricing strategies that support profitable growth. You'll transform raw data into actionable insights, identify trends, and support the development of new and existing insurance products.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Develop programs, procedures, and controls to support underwriting objectives.
- Analyze underwriting metrics and identify trends using statistical tools.
- Create reports and data visualizations to communicate performance insights to senior leadership.
- Recommend adjustments to improve profitability and support product development.
- Fulfill ad hoc reporting requests and validate standardized reports.
- Assist in the development and enhancement of P&C products.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with departments for research and implementation.
- Evaluate market opportunities and analyze the financial potential of new products.
- Contribute to the development of policy language, pricing, and quality standards.
- Manage internal and external resources for product implementation.
- Analyze product testing results to ensure profitability.
- Stay informed on industry trends through continuous learning and networking.
- Support geographic-level reporting and analysis.
Requirements
A minimum of 5 years in Property & Casualty Insurance with 2 years of in interpreting P&C forms, portfolio performance, and analytics.Advanced analytical skills, including Excel, Power BI, Tableau, or Looker. Familiar with SQL queries. Ability to analyze risk, rates, and policy language.Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.Critical thinking to identify root cause for problems and provide solutions.Helpful Skills / Experience
Fire dwelling insurance, pricing and product development experience are highly desired.Insurance designations such as AINS, CPCU, ARM, or relevant licenses.Broad business knowledge across finance, marketing, operations, and legal.Strategic mindset with the ability to align analysis with business goals.Travel
Up to 10% annual travel.Pay Range : $54,900.00 - $92,000.00 Any posted pay range considers a wide range of compensation factors, including candidate background, experience and work location, while also allowing for salary growth within the position.
