Description :
The Staff Accountant plays a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations, and supporting the finance team with financial reporting and analysis.
- Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, including journal entries and accruals, following GAAP standards.
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, cash-flow).
- Perform bank and account reconciliations (AP, AR, credit cards) to verify accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
- Assist in month-end and year-end close processes, including preparing journal entries, accruals, account reconciliations, and account analysis.
- Support accounts payable and receivable by processing invoices, payments, and customer billing to optimize cash flow.
- Prepare audit support documentation and liaise with internal / external auditors.
- Assist in tax compliance, including preparation of tax returns and liaising with tax advisors.
- Contribute to budget development and forecasting, providing data and analyses to support financial planning.
- Manage fixed asset schedules, including recording purchases, depreciation, and disposals.
Requirements :
Education & Experience :
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.1–3 years of experience in accounting (AP / AR, general ledger, financial reporting).Technical Skills :
Solid understanding of GAAP.Proficiency in accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and advanced Excel skills.Familiarity with tax filing, internal controls, audits, and compliance processes.Preferred Certifications :
CPA, CMA, or equivalent (optional, but a plus)Physical Requirements :
Sedentary work with occasional movement : Primarily seated when performing tasks such as data entry, reviewing financial documents, or preparing reports, with occasional walking, standing, bending, or reaching to access files or equipment.Lifting / carrying : Must be able to lift or move light items (e.g., documents, binders, small office equipment) weighing up to 20–25?lbs occasionally.Fine motor skills : Regular use of hands and fingers for typing, data entry, and handling paperwork—requiring manual dexterity.Vision & hearing : Close and distance vision required for reading computer screens, printed materials, and supporting documents. Ability to clearly hear and understand verbal communication, in person or via phone.Environment : Typical indoor office setting, generally moderate noise. Occasional exposure to noisier environments if attending on-site events is required.
