Medical Assistant II
The Medical Assistant II provides clinical and administrative support to physicians and nursing staff in delivering high-quality patient care. This role involves performing routine clinical tasks, assisting with procedures, and ensuring accurate documentation in compliance with MercyOne standards.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities :
- Prepare patients for examinations and procedures.
- Obtain and record vital signs, medical histories, and other relevant information.
- Administer medications and injections as directed by providers.
- Perform phlebotomy and specimen collection.
- Assist with minor office procedures and wound care.
- Schedule appointments and manage patient flow.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
- Ensure compliance with infection control and safety protocols.
- Provide patient education and instructions for follow-up care.
Qualifications :
High school diploma or equivalent required.Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program.Current certification as CMA, RMA, or equivalent preferred.CPR / BLS certification required.Minimum 12 years of experience in a clinical setting preferred.Skills & Competencies :
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.Proficiency in EHR systems and basic computer applications.Knowledge of medical terminology and clinical procedures.Physical Requirements :
Ability to stand, walk, and assist patients for extended periods.Lift up to 25 lbs occasionally.Benefits Include :
