Job description
Michael Sullivan & Associates LLP is seeking a full-time Legal Assistant with workers' compensation experience to join our team in San Diego. The Legal Assistant maintains a close professional relationship with attorneys and manages their day-to-day activities.
JOB SUMMARY
The Legal Assistant:
- provides administrative and clerical support to one or more attorneys and the Office Supervisor
- prepares correspondence and simple to moderately complex legal documents
- schedules medical appointments
- proofreads documents for spelling and grammar
- organizes and maintains files
- screens telephone calls and visitors
- reads and responds to mail.
Skills & Experience
Requirements:
- high school diploma or equivalent
- ABA-approved paralegal certificate OR Bachelor's Degree
- at least two years’ of workers' compensation experience
- strong written and oral communication
- highly organized
- MS Word proficiency
- type 50 wpm
- demonstrable ability to maintain confidentiality
