About the Role

As a Senior Staff Site Reliability Engineer , you’ll define the technical vision and architecture for reliability across Quizlet’s platform. You’ll lead large‑scale initiatives that ensure our systems remain fast, secure, and resilient — powering a platform that supports millions of learners worldwide. You’ll partner with leadership to shape the evolution of our infrastructure, mentor senior engineers, and embed reliability into everything we build.

This is an onsite position in our San Francisco office , requiring a minimum of three days per week onsite : Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday.

In this role, you will

• Set the strategic direction for reliability engineering and infrastructure automation across Quizlet.
• Architect self‑healing, globally distributed systems that deliver 99.95% + uptime.
• Drive modernization of the infrastructure stack — advancing container orchestration, observability, and control‑plane automation.
• Lead cross‑team initiatives to improve scalability, resilience, and security in partnership with product and AI platform teams.
• Define and enforce reliability standards, SLO frameworks, and incident response practices .
• Mentor senior engineers, fostering a culture of ownership and continuous improvement.
