Shipping & Receiving Clerk in Buffalo, NY
Curia provides global contract research and manufacturing services to the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries. The major responsibilities of the Shipping & Receiving Clerk include completing required documentation for all chemicals, finished goods, equipment, and laboratory supplies, shipping from and received at the Curia Buffalo facility. The Shipping & Receiving Clerk will also prepare outgoing shipments and handle all received packages from vendors and customers.

In this role you will :
- Prepare and process all shipments and related documentation from the Curia Buffalo site.
- Maintain shipping records and files, including working copies of certificates of analysis and bills of lading for hazardous material shipments.
- Resolve any errors with the shipping carriers.
- Prepare and distribute monthly shipping logs to project management for customer billing.
- Receiving (updating Oracle EB with record of receipt) and distribution for all materials delivered to the Curia Buffalo site.
- Work with purchasing and accounts payable to resolve discrepancies in materials ordered vs received.
- Ensure materials for shipping are packaged in containers conforming to current regulations.
- Attend training classes and maintain certifications for shipping of hazardous materials.
- Determine the most efficient packaging and ensure perishables are shipped with adequate cold packs or dry ice to ensure storage temperature is maintained even if delivery is delayed.
- Prepare the shipping label, packing list, bill of lading, and other shipping documentation as necessary and in compliance with all applicable regulations.
- Coordinate pickup of hazardous waste including preparing documentation in coordination with vendors.
- Track and prepare quarterly reports on hazardous waste disposal in coordination with Curia EH&S Staff off site.
- Coordinate standing orders with purchasing and site leadership to maintain and track the supply of bulk materials, such as dry ice, liquid nitrogen and compressed gases, following established safety protocols for receiving and storing materials.
- Prepare and / or repackage international Curie samples that are going to domestic customers as needed.
- Prepare and package Company samples that are outgoing for analysis and maintain information on a spreadsheet.
- Perform all duties in compliance with workplace safety procedures, OSHA requirements, and all applicable federal, state and local regulations.
