Early Childhood Development Center Teacher Aide - St. Louis Catholic Church, Austin

Job Summary :

This position is for 2024-2025 School Year (starting on August 1). The Early Childhood Development Center (ECDC) Teacher Aide assists the Teacher in providing the highest quality research-based care and education for the whole child's physical, spiritual, emotional, and mental development.

You will also work with the Teacher in partnering with, and supporting, the child's family in a loving, faith-filled community.

Essential Job Duties :

• Assist the Teacher in writing and implementing weekly lesson plans.
• Ensure the safety of the children by following all St. Louis Catholic Church and School, and State of Texas regulations, regarding childcare.
• Model appropriate play and interaction for children, by interacting in their play with them.
• Communicate daily with families regarding activities, upcoming events, their child's progress, etc.
• Maintain supervision of children in your care 100% of the time.
• Sit with children at snack and lunch time, modeling proper table manners.
• Model Catholic values by example of lifestyle, respect of all people, charity to all, leading age-appropriate prayers (morning, meal, nap, and dismissal prayers).
• Respect the confidentiality of staff, children, and families.
• Complete 30 hours per year of continuing education.
• Other duties as directed by ECDC management.

M i n imum Q u a li f i c a t i on s :

Must be 18 years of age or older.

Ed u c a tion a n d Tr a i n i n g :

• Must have a High School diploma or equivalent.
• CDA credential is a plus.

Experience :

Experience working with children preferred

• Va l id Texas dr i ve r 's li c ense or Government issued ID
• M u st mai n tain c o m p l i a n ce with t h e D i o c e se o f A u stin Et h ics and I n te g r i ty in Mi n i stry ( EIM) pol i c i es t h r o ugh o u t the e m p l oy ment p eri o d .
• Must be able to pass an extensive criminal background check.

He makes Christ's mission present and enduring int he parish. In order to fulfill his mission, the Pastor employs suitable, chosen collaborators (clerics, religious, or laypeople).

He shares with them his mission and entrusts various responsibilities to them.

Positions employed at St. Louis King of France Catholic Church and School - Austin, Texas help to extend the ministry of the Pastor in particular ways as outlined in the job description.

Therefore, the employee in this position is closely connected to, and assists the Pastor in, the performance of his ministry and thereby engages in ministry for the Church.
