Responsibilities Southwest Healthcare Inland Valley Hospital in Wildomar, California , is a licensed -bed facility accredited by the Joint Commission. It is Southwest Riverside County's only designated Trauma Center and a county-designated Paramedic Base Station. The hospital performs more than 4, surgeries a year, and has an average of 4, Emergency Department visits per month. The hospital features a Bariatric Weight-Loss Surgery Center of Excellence and the region’s only Total Joint Center.
Southwest Healthcare Rancho Springs Hospital in Murrieta, California , is a bed acute-care hospital with the region's only Pediatric Emergency Services team (for children and under) provided by board certified Rady Children’s emergency medicine physicians. Rancho Springs Hospital also provides the area's only OB/Emergency Department program, which gives expectant mothers /7 on-site access to OB/GYN physician coverage. The Childbirth Center at Rancho Springs Hospital is the largest in the region and features spacious family-friendly private suites. Rancho's Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) is operated by Rady Children’s.
The Manager of Laboratory supervises the day-to-day operations of the Lab and a team of CLS and Lab Assistants. He/she is directly responsible for ensuring the team’s adherence to protocols, appropriate management and distribution of workload, ensuring compliance with institutional, industry and federal requirements. The positions is responsible for supervising, administering, and achieving operational goals and objectives for implementation within his/her specific team.
- Has an understanding of the underlying scientific principle, as well as of the technical and procedural aspects of laboratory testing.
- Must have a general comprehension of the physiology, biochemistry, immunology, microbiology, and genetic factors that affect health and disease in relation with laboratory testing.
- Must have an understanding of management, financial, human resource, and regulatory standards (TJC, DHS, CLIA ) as it relates to the laboratory.
Qualifications EDUCATION/TRAINING/ EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited College or University in related field required.
- Master's degree in related field preferred.
- Three (3) years of clinical experience as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) required.
- Minimum three (3) years leadership experience in a Laboratory required, acute care experience preferred.
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES:
- Follows the State of California, DHS, Laboratory Field Services requirements of education for licensure of a Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS).
