Responsibilities :
- Ensures newstudent operators are thoroughly trained in the safe and efficienthandling of vehicles and equipment to exceed customerstandards.
- Ensures that all trainees aretrained on all routes.
- Monitorsthe progress of trainees to ensure proper training. Ensuresall employee training records are in compliance with trainingpolicies.
- Responsible for the directsupervision of students.
- EnsuresOperator Development Program (ODP) is followed and properlydelivered to include updates whennecessary.
- Performs new equipmentfamiliarization, refresher, and remediationtraining.
- May assist with reviews ofCleaver Device events, to include counseling ofoperators.
- Acts as a resource to provideemployees with expert information on operation ofequipment.
- Assists with ride checksoperators as needed.
- Recommendssafer methods, procedures, and preventativemeasures.
- May be cross-trained toinvestigate accidents and incidents involving company property,equipment, and personnel.
- Performsrelated work as required and other tasks asassigned.
Qualifications :
- High schooldiploma or equivalent.
- 2+ years’transportation or logisticsexperience.
- 2-4 years previous supervisoryexperience.
- Valid CDL class B withpassenger and airbrake endorsements.
- Must beable to demonstrate poise, tact, diplomacy and possesses goodjudgment and discretion.
- Superiorcommunication and presentationskills.
- Must be able to pass thirdparty tester certification within ninety (90) days of employment,if necessary.
- Must be familiar with SmithSystem defensive driving program.
- Must havebetter than average knowledge ofarea.
- Must possess ability to lead and motivateassociates
- Must be able to retrieve,generate, and process information in YT solutions, ifapplicable.
- Detail oriented, wellorganized, and possess effective time managementskills.
- Proven customer service andinterpersonal skills a must.
- Generalknowledge of Windows-based computer operating system and Microsoftoffice package.
- Must be able to work as amember of the team.
- Ability tointeract professionally with internal and external customer on alllevels and be able to work well with diversegroups.
- Must be able to work flexiblehours or shifts.
