SUMMARY
The Financial Planning & Analyst will translate data into actionable insights that support business decision-making. The role will be responsible for monitoring costs, analyzing variances, preparing forecasts, and supporting budgeting processes, while ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Cost Accounting
- Maintain and analyze cost accounting system data to ensure accurate product costing.
- Monitor inventory transactions and reconcile variances between actual and standard costs.
- Perform month-end and year-end cost accounting close processes, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Prepare cost of goods sold (COGS) analysis and identify cost reduction opportunities.
Financial Analysis & Reporting
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports with variance analysis against budget and forecast.Assist with the development of annual budgets and rolling forecasts.Analyze profitability by product line, customer, or project.Support management in strategic decision-making with data-driven recommendations.Operational Support
Partner with production, purchasing, and operations teams to monitor and control manufacturing and overhead costs.Provide financial insight on pricing decisions, capital expenditures, and process improvements.Assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.Perform other related duties as necessary or assigned.QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.2–5 years of experience in cost accounting, financial analysis, or a related role.Solid understanding of standard costing, variance analysis, and inventory accounting.Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with ERP systems preferred.Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and present data clearly.Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.WORKING CONDITIONS
Working conditions are normal for an office environment. Work may require local travel. Work may require evening and weekend work.
