End Date : February 23, 2026

Shift : 12-hour nights (7 : 00 PM – 7 : 00 AM)

Hours per Week : 36

Setting : Cardiac Stepdown / Progressive Care Unit (PCU)

Employment Type : Travel RN, On-Site

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active and unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license (Texas or compact state)

Minimum 1 year of recent experience in Cardiac Stepdown, PCU, or progressive care nursing

BLS certification (required for nursing jobs)

ACLS certification (preferred for cardiac nursing roles)

Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills

Excellent communication and teamwork abilities

Cardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities

Provide high-quality nursing care to cardiac patients in the Stepdown / PCU unit

Monitor, assess, and respond to changes in cardiac patient conditions

Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers

Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare team members to develop and implement patient care plans

Educate patients and families on cardiac conditions, treatments, and post-discharge care

Accurately document all patient care activities in the electronic health record (EHR)
