Job description

ACCOUNTING ADMINISTRATOR II - ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES DIVISION / ACCOUNTING SERVICES SECTION / FISCAL SYSTEMS

The reporting location for this position is at the Headquarters in Sacramento, CA. This position will work under the general direction of the Accounting Chief (Accounting Administrator III).

This position is responsible for planning, organizing, directing, supervising, and managing the Fiscal Systems Support Unit. The Accounting Administrator II (Manager) provides leadership over the Fiscal Systems Support Unit concerning all efforts related to maintaining electronic accounting databases, optimizing business processes and controls. The technical expert for accounting policy, procedure design, system logic and operation of State Park's financial systems the Financial Information System for California (FI$Cal), and the department's internal web-based Fiscal Tracking System (FTS). The Manager performs independent reviews of the Division's control activities to ensure they are adequate for mitigating risks, and critical tasks are completed timely and in accordance with legislative mandates or management directives. These activities include oversight over the sections policies and procedures, approval and verification processes, reconciliations, and separation of duties.

Training and Development Assignments may be considered.

This position is designated as telework eligible remote centered.

    STATEMENT OF QUALIFICATIONS (SOQ).

    The Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) must be typed in Arial font, 12-point size, single-spaced, on 8.5" x 11" paper, one-inch margins, no more than two pages in length, indicate "Statement of Qualifications" at the top of the page, identify candidate's name on each page, and answer the following questions listed below.     1. Please describe your experiences with FI$Cal, Project management and State Government Reporting (Budgetary / Legal Basis and GAAP) or similar reports.

    2. Please describe your experience utilizing analytical tools, such as Excel, PowerBI, PowerQuery, and macros for analyzing financial data.
