Overview

Construction Inspector - Bridge, Tunnel, Aeronautical

GFT is seeking a Construction Inspector to join our team for upcoming projects in New York / New Jersey. The role reports to construction sites, ensuring that contractors' work adheres to contract requirements.

What You Will Do

Onsite inspection and testing of contractor activities to verify compliance with project requirements and Gannett Fleming Quality Management Protocols (QMP).
Complete daily inspection reports and document findings in a timely manner.
Represent the client and Gannett Fleming in a professional manner and appearance.
Be onsite during contractor work activities and respond to field conditions as directed by the Resident Engineer.

Responsibilities

Perform testing / inspections in a timely manner per QMP.

Prepare and maintain daily inspection reports.

Represent client and firm professionally on site.

Oversight during contractor work activities.

Report to and take directions from the Resident Engineer.

Education & Experience

BS – Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering, preferred

ICC / NICET II, III, or IV Highway Construction

4-10 years bridge, tunnel, and / or aeronautical construction inspection experience

OSHA 30-hour

Driver's license and ability to obtain high SWAC clearance, SIDA card and / or Custom ID

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Willingness to cover night and weekend shifts, and stay late or come in early as needed

Desired Certifications

ACI Concrete Special Inspector, Work Zone Safety certifications desired

Compensation

The salary range for this role is $55,000 - $124,000 , dependent upon experience and geographic location.
