Civil Engineering Intern

The Chicago office of SmithGroup is looking for a Civil Engineering Intern to join our team.

Working with us, you will :

• Work on integrated design teams with landscape architecture, urban planning, and surveying.
• Develop site design drawings using AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
• Perform preliminary design calculations and analysis.
• Compile data and prepare design solutions.
• Assist in editing technical specifications.
• Participate in design meetings.
• Receive mentorship from experienced engineers.
• Visit a construction site(s) and / or completed project sites.

The anticipated hourly rate for this position is $24.00 to $25.00 per hour, at the time of posting. You are eligible to receive overtime pay for hours worked beyond 40 in a work week. Our 12-week summer internships are held between May-August. We encourage you to apply early as our internship positions tend to fill quickly. Consideration will be given if a candidate wishes to complete the internship at one of SmithGroup's six other Midwest locations.
