Job Description :
Sr. Automation and Test Development Engineer (Semiconductor Devices)
Duties and Responsibilities :
- Developing systems to characterize the performance of semiconductor lasers, detectors, and passive optical components using DC and RF test instruments and algorithms
- Working with robotic handling equipment and machine vision
- Transferring automated test systems into a manufacturing environment, including system documentation and work instructions
- Performing failure mode analysis to support continuous improvement of the quality of test data
- Developing software using Microsoft .NET, Visual Studio, and C++ to automate test systems in a manufacturing environment
- Performing data analysis to evaluate test system and product performance
- Working with manufacturing and product development engineers for yield improvements and test-time reduction
- Characterizing test systems using error-of-measurement, process capability, and correlation studies
Requirements :
- Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or Electrical and Computer Engineering with 5+ years of relevant experience, or Masters with 3+ years, or Ph.D. with 0+ years.
- Ability to understand the fundamentals0of optoelectronic devices, test instruments, and algorithms
- Strong problem-solving skills drawing on an understanding of statistical analysis and electrical, mechanical, optical, and software interactions
- Automation experience including motion control, machine vision, software development, and database access
- Detail-oriented with excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Hands-on experience working in a high-tech manufacturing and development environment
- Strong team player with ability to handle multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment
- Flexibility for occasional travel to other Broadcom sites worldwide after resolution of the COVID situation
Preferred :
Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or Electrical and Computer Engineering with 12+ years of relevant experience, or Masters with 10+ years, or Ph.D. with 7+ years.
