Job Overview :

The RWJBarnabas Corporate Payroll department supports an employee base of more than 40,000 employees. The Payroll Specialist is responsible for performing various and more complex duties including, but not limited to : educating and training to sites on payroll practices.

Qualifications

Required :

• High School Diploma
• 2+ years Payroll experience
• Experience working with large complex clients, preferably in a healthcare setting
• Excellent customer service skills with a dedication to effective and timely resolution of outstanding issues,
• Strong oral and written communication skills to effectively communicate with all levels of management
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
• Must be able to adhere to confidentiality standards and professional boundaries at all times

Preferred :

Associates degree or equivalent level of experience

Experience with PeopleSoft Payroll

Previous experience with tax and vendor updates within a large payroll system

Payroll, Finance, Accounting, and / or Payroll Tax experience

Strong understanding of federal, state, and local tax practices
