Adelphi is seeking a licensed and experienced Medical Director to lead psychiatric and clinical operations at a state mental-health facility located in Kane County, Illinois. The Medical Director will guide medical policy, supervise multidisciplinary teams, and ensure delivery of high-quality, patient-centered psychiatric care consistent with all applicable standards and regulations.

- MD or DO degree from an accredited institution
- Board Certification in Psychiatry (ABPN or equivalent)
- Active and unrestricted Illinois medical license and controlled-substance registration
- Valid DEA registration and NPI number
- Minimum five (5) years of clinical experience in psychiatric or behavioral-health settings
- At least three (3) years of medical administrative experience in psychiatric program leadership
- Experience in state, public, or forensic mental-health facilities preferred
- Familiarity with Joint Commission, CMS, and OSHA standards
- Demonstrated ability to supervise multidisciplinary healthcare teams and manage clinical protocols
- Ability to pass comprehensive background and drug screening
- Completion of required orientation and infection-control training prior to start Responsibilities
- Provide clinical leadership and medical oversight for psychiatric and medical services.
- Supervise and collaborate with psychiatrists, advanced practice clinicians, and nursing staff.
- Develop and implement evidence-based treatment policies and quality-improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, infection-control standards, and ethical guidelines.
- Participate in administrative reviews, risk-management activities, and performance audits.
- Promote a trauma-informed, recovery-oriented approach to psychiatric care.
- Serve as a liaison for clinical communication and coordination among teams.
- Maintain confidentiality and HIPAA compliance in all clinical and administrative activities.
