We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Permanent Director of Engineering to join our fast-paced environment in the Engineering industry. This is an opportunity to lead a team of engineers and play a pivotal role in the design, development, and implementation of innovative engineering solutions. The successful candidate will have a background in managing complex engineering projects and a passion for driving efficiency and excellence in all aspects of our engineering operations.

Responsibilities :

  • Provide leadership and direction to the engineering team, fostering an environment of continuous learning and innovation.
  • Oversee the commissioning of new projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
  • Drive process improvement initiatives across the engineering department, identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Develop and implement robust process engineering strategies, ensuring they align with the company's overall business objectives.
  • Manage all aspects of manufacturing operations, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Collaborate with the food and beverage team to develop engineering solutions that enhance product quality and production efficiency.
  • Develop and manage the engineering budget, ensuring resources are allocated effectively and strategically.
  • Foster strong relationships with key stakeholders, including suppliers, clients, and regulatory bodies, to ensure the company's engineering operations are aligned with industry trends and expectations.
  • Ensure all engineering activities comply with health and safety regulations, fostering a culture of safety within the team.

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field is required. A Master’s degree or MBA would be considered an asset.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior engineering role, with a proven track record of managing complex engineering projects.
  • Demonstrated experience in commissioning, process improvement, and process engineering.
  • Strong background in manufacturing management, preferably within the food and beverage industry.
  • Excellent leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and make sound decisions under pressure.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex engineering concepts to a range of stakeholders.
  • Proficient in using engineering software and technology.
  • Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations within the engineering industry.
  • Ability to travel as needed to oversee projects and meet with stakeholders.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) certification would be considered an asset.
