Chartwells Higher Ed is seeking a self-motivated and energetic food service leader in the role of Director of Operations at The University of Idaho.  This is a high volume, premiere account that is growing! In this role you will lead food service operations, maintain established costs and quality standards so as to ensure superior service and maximize profits. The preferred candidate will have experience overseeing operations at an executive level managing multiple services and / or locations. To reach these goals, you will handle the following :

Moscow has a small‑town feel with college‑town energy and exciting culinary scene.  Despite being a small town, Moscow has a fairly diverse mix of comfort‑food joints, ethnic restaurants, casual spots, fine dining, breweries and brewpubs. The food in Moscow is surprisingly diverse for its size, and locals tend to emphasize freshness, local sourcing, and variety. There’s a strong agricultural base around you, so farmers’ markets are full of high quality produce, meats, cheeses.  It’s a walkable and bike‑friendly town. You can get around without always having to use a car, especially in and around campus and downtown. Trails and paths (Paradise Path, Bill Chipman Palouse Trail, Latah Trail) connect neighborhoods, nature, and amenities. You’re surrounded by rolling hills of the Palouse, forests, scenic overlooks, trails, and plenty of space for hiking, biking, wildlife, and enjoying changing seasons. There are parks, good schools, community events, and access to nature all around.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Formulates budgets and plans for the operation
• Maintains and implements standards of quality in all areas of the foodservice operation
• Develops client, customer, and staff relationships, to ensure account retention
• Directs daily operations of food service to ensure employees have appropriate equipment, inventory and resources, ensures operating standards and regulatory requirements are met
• Develops and implements plans, projects, with defined objectives, methods, timetables and budget to support client and Chartwell's strategic plan
• Accountable for accurate reporting for the account
