JOB SUMMARY

Works under general direction to perform professional level medical or scientific research assignments related to particular or specialized field of endeavor.

We are seeking applicants who will work under the general supervision of the lead mouse technician in the Douglas lab to provide routine technical assistance in performance of assignments requiring basic knowledge of fundamental techniques and practices related to murine-related studies and cell / molecular techniques.

Candidate will :

• Assist in conducting experiments and working on research problems involving technical skills such as genotyping, PCR amplification, gel electrophoresis, mouse weaning, perfusions, tissue sectioning, and other related fields by performing basic, routine, and least complex procedures as prescribed by supervisor.
• Assemble and / or operats various laboratory equipment and apparatus.
• Record resulting data in accordance with established methods. Confers with supervisor concerning results obtained and modifies procedures in accordance with instruction of supervisor.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

Required

Master's Degree with major coursework in field of assignment or

Bachelor's Degree with major coursework in field of assignment

3 years of laboratory experience with Master's degree including

2 years at level of Research Assistant II or equivalent or

4 years of laboratory experience with Bachelor's degree including

2 years at level of Research Assistant II or equivalent.
