What You'll Do
The Global Process Safety Manager is responsible for developing and implementing transformational strategic process safety programs worldwide, ensuring the identification and management of hazards and risks associated with chemical processes and equipment. This role influences global policy, supports regional teams in execution, and aligns with corporate goals to ensure safe, compliant, and responsible operations. The manager will drive best-in-class performance in process safety and risk management, working closely with regional EHSS teams and the Manufacturing Technology group in this highly visible position to identify improvement opportunities in manufacturing environments. The position requires a highly skilled professional with considerable experience in process safety, chemical engineering and risk management with the ability to travel globally 15-20% of time.
- Develop, implement, and support standardized global process safety and risk management policies, standards and programs to achieve best-in-class performance.
- Provide consulting support in process safety, including Process Hazard Analysis (PHA), Mechanical Integrity (MI), Pre-Start Up Safety Review (PSSR), Process Safety Information (PSI), and Management of Change (MOC).
- Maintain implementation of global PHA standard, ensuring alignment with OSHA PSM and Responsible Care requirements. Support regional teams in implementation.
- Develop global policy on application of additional hazard identification / risk assessment techniques (Layer of Protection Analysis (LOPA), Human Reliability Analyses, Siting Studies) and support regional teams in implementation.
- Train and coach employees in process safety and risk management, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Participate in incident investigations and other EHSS-related teams, ensuring thorough root cause analysis and appropriate action plans.
- Develop competency requirements and training curriculum for process safety for new and experienced employees.
- Ensure compliance with corporate standards and local regulations in engineering, projects, and daily operations processes.
Qualifications and Skills
Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.Minimum ten years of experience in the chemical process industry, with substantial Process Safety Management experience.Strong analytical skills and strategic thinking capabilities.Proven ability to work individually and collaboratively within teams.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.In-depth knowledge of chemical processing equipment operations and maintenance, including pressure vessels, piping, heat exchangers, pumps, and compressors.Ability to travel internationally and domestically 15-20% of the time.Preferred and Additional Competencies
