SUMMARY OF JOB RESPONSIBILITIES :
Performs major and minor interior and exterior repairs including but not limited to electrical, plumbing, basic trouble shooting / diagnosis and repair on all facility mechanical systems. Carpentry and flooring installation and repairs. Works with all members of the department and assists and instructs Maintenance Mechanic I level and Maintenance Helper. Performs "On-call" duties as scheduled and responds to emergency situations as required.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Complete major and minor interior and exterior repairs to facility in areas of plumbing, electrical, etc.
2. Must be versed in all applicable trades to building up keep and routine maintenance.
3. Complete work orders associated with resident requests in a timely and professional manner.
4. Assist other maintenance mechanics, complete routine preventative maintenance and performs renovation upgrades and completes paperwork.
5. Completes scheduled and unscheduled duties, returns phone calls and performs "On-call" duties. Attends all mandatory meetings.
QUALIFICATIONS
Good communication skills. Good hands on people skills. Independent thinker Able to guide and teach less experienced staff.
EDUCATION :
High school or equivalent. A completion of trade certification a plus.
EXPERIENCE :
Certification in one or more trades required -OR- +10 years experience in general building maintenance and repair
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS :
Must be generally skilled in all trades associated with building upkeep and routine preventive maintenance.
PRINCIPAL JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES :
Must keep license and certifications current.
