Role : Food Runner

Reports to : General Manager, Assistant General Manager, Floor Manager, Chef Managers and Beverage Director
Position Summary
The Food Runner ensures seamless coordination between the kitchen and dining room, delivering dishes to guests with accuracy, urgency, and professionalism. You are responsible for presenting food with precision, describing dishes confidently, and supporting the service team to maintain Golden Steer’s timeless steakhouse experience. By moving with speed and grace, you help create a smooth, memorable dining experience for every guest.
Key Responsibilities
- Food Delivery : Run dishes from kitchen to tables swiftly, ensuring accuracy, correct temperatures, and proper presentation.
- Guest Interaction : Present and describe menu items clearly when needed, reinforcing hospitality standards.
- Team Collaboration : Support servers and bussers by anticipating needs and maintaining clear communication with kitchen staff.
- Timing & Flow : Assist in coordinating course pacing, ensuring that dishes for each table arrive together.
- Cleanliness & Organization : Keep service stations, trays, and expo areas clean, stocked, and organized at all times.
- Standards & Consistency : Uphold Golden Steer standards for polished, attentive service in every guest interaction.
- Hospitality & Professionalism : Handle guest questions courteously; escalate concerns to servers or managers as needed.

1-2 years of experience as a food runner or support role in a high-volume restaurant preferred.Strong communication and teamwork skills.Ability to move quickly and carry multiple plates or trays with composure.Knowledge of steakhouse cuisine and classic service standards a plus.English required; Spanish a plus.Operations & Compliance
Follow NYC DOH sanitation standards and allergy protocols.Execute responsible food handling and safety practices at all times.Teamwork & Culture
Show up prepared, proactive, and engaged.Support new team members by modeling polished food running and service support.Represent Golden Steer with professionalism and pride.Physical & Scheduling Requirements
Stand and move swiftly for 8–10 hours.Carry multiple plates and trays weighing up to 30 lbs.Nights, weekends, and holidays required.Compensation & Benefits
