Licensed Mental Health Professional (Social Work - LMSW/LPC)
Vanderbilt Psychiatric Hospital

Your Role:
Performs behavioral health diagnostic and psycho-social assessments utilizing the DSM-V, implements group, family and individual psycho therapeutic interventions including crisis intervention, develops treatment plans and disposition plans. Maintains contact with family and community agencies and makes referrals. Represents the behavioral health enterprise on institutional and community committees/task forces.

Qualifications:

Level 1: LMSW or LPC-MHSP temp

Level 2: LCSW or LPC-MHSP

'Consideration may be given to candidates that can obtain license/certification within 6 months, in accordance with state guidelines.'

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides initial assessment and develops plan of care according to TN Department of Mental Health, The Joint Commission and CMS Best Practice Guidelines and within the scope of their license by the Tennessee Health Related Boards.
  • Provides targeted evidence based interventions into clinical practice with patients.
  • Facilitates transitions to appropriate levels of care via in person, telephone or telehealth contact.
  • Acts as clinical liaison with patient, family, treatment team and community.
  • Contributes to the organization by actively participating in process improvement initiatives and shared decision making.
  • Engages in regularly scheduled supervision as required by the Tennessee Health Related Boards.
  • Maintains confidentiality and privilege in accordance with TN state codes and statutes
  • Upholds ethical standards in accordance with relevant professional association's code of ethics

* Vanderbilt Behavioral Health is a multidisciplinary service within Vanderbilt University Medical Center that offers world-class patient care and excellence in education and research.

* Vanderbilt Behavioral Health, through its inpatient facility Vanderbilt Psychiatric Hospital, is the only inpatient provider of mental health services for children in Middle Tennessee. We offer highly specialized services for children ages 4-12 who have emotional or behavioral challenges and need immediate assistance. Each child's care is supervised by a board-certified child psychiatrist.

* Our adult programs care for patients 18 and older. We offer personalized treatment programs tailored to specific needs such as Psychotic Disorder Program, Mood Disorders Program, Addictions Programs, and the Adult Partial Hospitalization Program.

* Vanderbilt Psychiatric Hospital is an 106 bed hospital for children, adolescents, and adult patients.

Required:

  • Master's Degree (or equivalent experience) in Counseling or Social Work required (Required)
  • TN LMSW or LPC-MHSP temporary license required or must be obtained within six months of hire (Required)
