Sr. Data Scientist, Controlled Experimentation

Description

Work on initiatives to improve user experience and drive growth - Partner closely with engineering, product and machine learning teams. Work falls broadly into three areas : Experimentation : Improve quality of experimentation, hypothesis generation, statistical techniques, rare event detection and underlying infrastructure.Optimization : Hyper parameter optimization, exploratory and ad-hoc analysis to improve customer experience.Advisory : Cut through the noise in data, identify key findings and distill recommendations for engineering, product and business owners.

Minimum Qualifications

• At least 5 years of industry experience managing Controlled Experimentation.
• At least 3 years of industry experience with the following :
• Experiment design and hypothesis testing.
• Applied Statistics with Experimentation Optimization techniques.
• Variance Reduction and Rare Event detection.
• Data mining skills with SQL, Scala, and PySpark.
• Python or R
• Masters or PhD in Statistics, Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or a related academic field.
• Exposure to consumer technology.
• Demonstrate a strong product acumen.
• Ability to collaborate with cross functional teams, ranging from engineering and product to business.
• Adept at structuring and solving complex open ended problems.
• Strong communication skill with experience in driving executive presentations.

Preferred Qualifications

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $163,300 and $290,100, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
