Summary
The Senior Student Success Coach provides proactive, holistic, and student-centered support to promote students' academic, social, and personal success. In addition to managing a caseload of students, the Senior Coach plays a leadership role in the development and implementation of student success initiatives, mentors Success Coaches, and offers counseling services to students. This position collaborates with campus partners to enhance retention, persistence, and overall student well-being.
Knowledge & Responsibilities
Essential Duties and Responsibilities : other duties as assigned
- Provide one-on-one coaching sessions focused on academic planning, program requirements, time management, goal setting, and personal development.
- Monitor academic progress and intervene early when students show signs of academic difficulty or disengagement.
- Inspire, coach, and advise a caseload of assigned students and track outreach, meetings, and progress.
- Accurately document, maintain, and track all student interactions, information, and progression through the Customer Relations Management system and / or other student information systems.
- Design and implement interventions for at-risk or underperforming student populations using data-informed decisions.
- Serve as a lead contact for students in need of counseling interventions.
- Mentor and support training efforts for Student Success Coaches, sharing best practices and providing informal leadership.
- Develop and refine success coaching model, assessment tools, and early-alert strategies.
- Use data analytics to identify at-risk students and develop strategies to support them.
- Analyze student data and trends to make recommendations for program improvements.
- Lead or co-lead workshops, orientations, and retention-related initiatives.
- Provide guidance and referrals to students for appropriate services, including tutoring, counseling, financial aid, and career services.
- Maintain knowledge of federal and institutional policies and regulations pertaining to Federal Title IV, tuition assistance, VA (Veteran Affairs) benefits, payment plans, and billing system.
- Other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Serves as a mentor and provides guidance and informal leadership to Student Success Coaches.

Education Minimum :
Master's degree in counseling, education, psychology, student development, social work or related field from an accredited institution.
Experience Minimum :
One year of experience providing academic advising in a higher education setting.Two years of experience in an educational setting.Strong communication, coaching, and problem-solving skills.Experience in career planning, intervention, and retention activities / strategies.Experience Preferred :
Experience in a community college setting.Prior mentoring and training experience.Additional Information
