Perrigo Pharmaceuticals, located in Bronx, NY is looking to add a Microbiologist II to their team.

Working hours - Monday - Friday – 7am - 3 : 30pm / 7 : 30 am – 4 : 00PM

Requiring weekend ( Saturday) work when applicable)

Pay Rate for this Position is $31.05 Per Hour

Scope of the Role

The successful candidate will be able to work in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with current GMP’s,GLP’s, SOP’s, analytical methods, and work instructions. Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team are desired. A thorough understanding of aseptic technique is essential. Microbiological testing is performed on raw materials, in-process samples, finished products, water samples, and cleaning validation swab samples. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following :

• Daily, monthly, and quarterly cleaning and sanitizing of assigned laboratory areas and equipment.
• Media preparation / Growth promotion tests and use of autoclaves
• Microbial Limit Tests of finished product, stability and raw material samples
• Bacterial enumeration using pour plate and spread plate methods.
• Antimicrobial effectiveness testing ( AET)
• Bacterial identification by Gram staining / microscopic examination / API test kit
• Environmental air monitoring
• Culture maintenance
• Documentation and data entry in electronic notebooks and entering of final results into SAP.

Experience Required

Three years’ experience in a microbiology, pharmaceutical or clinical laboratory is preferred, but not required.

A four-year college degree in Microbiology or Biological Science. Consideration may be given to those who hold 10 years of progressively responsible and relevant work experience.
