Job Overview
We are looking for a senior-level engineer to lead the design and deployment of high-performance electronic systems that combine precision signal paths, embedded compute platforms, and robust communication interfaces. This role owns the full hardware lifecycle, from architecture and schematic development to validation and production launch. You will define system-level decisions across power, RF / digital routing, and interface integration; design and review multi-layer PCB layouts; and build and test prototypes using standard lab equipment to ensure signal integrity and resilience. Success requires tight coordination with firmware and systems teams to align hardware behavior under real-world load conditions, along with disciplined documentation to support production transfer. The role also includes occasional hands-on support during field evaluations or customer integration events. Ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex hardware challenges and wants to see designs move quickly from bench to deployment.
Experience Requirements
- A minimum of 10 years of experience working with complex electronic systems, particularly involving high-frequency or mixed-signal architectures
- Must be a U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain government security clearance
- Proficiency with circuit simulation and modeling platforms (e.g., Keysight ADS, Microwave Office, HFSS, CST or similar)
- Extensive experience in multi-layer PCB design using Altium Designer, Cadence Allegro, or equivalent tools
- Hands-on proficiency with electronic test and measurement equipment (oscilloscopes, spectrum / network analyzers, signal generators, etc.)
- Strong understanding of signal behavior including impedance control, filtering, modulation, and noise mitigation
- Proven track record taking electronic products from prototype to full production
- Experience implementing wired (UART, I2C, SPI, CAN, Ethernet) and wireless interfaces (BLE, Wi-Fi, ZigBee, cellular)
- Working knowledge of embedded platforms and driver development (e.g., PSoC, nRF, Raspberry Pi CM, x86_64)
- Familiarity with Linux-based or embedded Linux environments, particularly Debian-family systems
- Comfortable using collaboration and version-control frameworks such as JIRA, Confluence, Git, or SVN
Experience Preferences
- Experience with GNSS, LTE, Bluetooth, radar, or other custom RF systems
- Familiarity with FPGA interfaces, digital baseband processing, or mixed digital / RF designs
- Knowledge of regulatory compliance standards (FCC, CE, ETSI) and EMC best practices
- Prior involvement in initial board bring-up or first-article validation
- Strong analytical and documentation skills with attention to reproducibility
- Experience working in small, multidisciplinary hardware teams with fast iteration cycles
- Exposure to simulation or training systems (military or industrial) is a plus
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools for reporting and documentation
Physical Requirements
- Ability to travel required (typically one week every two months). Trips to include testing of developed products in operating environment and new client development / planning on location
Education Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline
