Dental Assistant Position

Assists with a variety of health care tasks, from taking dental x-rays and caring for patients, to helping file records and appointment scheduling.

Essential Functions

• Assists dental hygienists with procedures when necessary.
• Records treatment information in patient records.
• Exposes dental x-rays from dental diagnostics and caring for dental x-ray equipment.
• Gives patients information on dental hygiene, oral health care, and plaque control programs.
• Collects and records medical and dental histories and patient vital signs.
• Provides postoperative instructions as directed by the dentist.
• Orders dental supplies and maintains dental equipment inventory.
• Fabricates temporary restorations and custom impressions from preliminary impressions.

Qualifications

Education Trade / Technical / Vocational Diploma Dental Assistant required Can this role accept experience in lieu of a degree? Yes

Licenses and Credentials Basic Life Support [BLS Certification] - Data Conversion - Various Issuers required Dental Assistant [State License] - Generic - required

Experience directly related experience 1+ year preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities - Completion of Dental Hygiene Program. - Experience using computers for a variety of tasks. - Good written and verbal communication skills. - Consistently professional appearance and attitude. - Able to provide great patient care.
