Department Coordinator
The Department Coordinator coordinates and supports administrative functions and operations in the Department of Political Science under general supervision. This is a part-time position working 20 hrs / week. Because this position is part-time, there are no remote work options.
The ideal candidate has strong verbal and written communication skills, is proactive and service-oriented. This position is exclusively on-site, part-time at 20 hours a week. Work arrangements may be subject to change.
Hiring Range : $20.00 / hour
- Non-Exempt (hourly) positions under FLSA are eligible for overtime.
Minimum Requirements :
Associate's Degree2+ years of experience of working in an office environmentIntermediate knowledge of word processingSkills :

Provides support to faculty, administrators, students, and staff by implementing and administering day-to-day functions of the departmentInterprets, implements and ensures compliance with policies and procedures, and recommends alternative solutionsReviews and monitors trends to provide recommendations to streamline functions in the departmentMonitors and tracks expenses, processes financial transactions expense reports, honoraria, reimbursementsRepresents the department within the schoolCreates communications and outreach plans to include relationship development, communications, and / or complianceManages equipment inventory and disposal through Rice processesHandles facilities work requests and follow-upPerforms all other duties as assignedAdditional Functions :
