Power Electronics Firmware Engineer role at Lennox. Lennox (NYSE : LII) is a global provider of climate-control solutions with a long legacy in HVAC and refrigeration. This position is part of the Controls Engineering organization and involves designing and developing software components for embedded systems.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the successful implementation and delivery of embedded software products and components throughout the entire product lifecycle.
- Ensure project deliverables are completed on time and with high quality.
- Define technical requirements with internal and external customers, marketing, manufacturing, and other support groups.
- Participate in the definition and implementation of new processes and improvements.
- Identify and create new technologies and ideas to increase the organization's intellectual property and better address customer needs.
- Participate in technical feasibility analysis and prototyping activities.
What We Are Looking For
Education Requirements : Bachelors / Masters in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in Power Electronics is required.Technical Skills : 5+ years of professional experience developing power / motor control firmware using C / C++ and model-based design using tools such as MATLAB Simulink.Experience in architecture, design, hardware / software integration, and development of embedded software to interface and control power electronic converters.Design experience with power inverters, PFCs on TI microcontrollers (28027, 28062F, 280025) or equivalent.Design and debug experience for peripherals needed for motor control (PWMs, ADCs, timers).Experience in analog / digital circuit design and control boards.Exposure to modern control theory applied to power domain and RTOS development.Experience collaborating in multi-site software development teams and projects.Ability to develop unit-tested software components.Familiarity with serial communication protocols (I2C, RS-485, RS-232, CAN, SPI) and embedded tools (JTAG, protocol analyzers, emulators).Familiarity with Configuration Management tools and coding standards; familiarity with static / dynamic analysis tools.Experience with HVAC control systems.Teaming / Soft Skills : Excellent verbal and written communication; ability to work with technical and non-technical staff; collaboration across Hardware, Testing, Technical Support, and Manufacturing; self-driven and results oriented; ability to work with third parties and offshore teams as needed.What We Offer
Compensation : Salaried exempt role. Starting salary range is $112,000 – $130,000 USD annually. Eligible for BroadBase Incentive (BBI) with target payout of 2%. Overtime not applicable.Location and Schedule : Carrollton, TX.
